Aptitude in Limbo, 2015

The performance takes trust-exercise as its starting point, approaching the subject of freedom through letting go, and achieving complete trust, thus freeing one’s mind of the pressure and weight of responsibility.

The piece consists of creating a drawing via audience directed movements, with mark making materials attached to various body parts of the artist, including, head, arms, shoulders, knees and feet. The artist will follow orders, creating marks on the surface. The directions are completely up to the audience, they could work alone or in a group. The piece emphasizes the importance of the viewer in art. Without them the work does not exist; their experiencing the work creates art.
